Leading Lines

 Strategic Approach

My work has main focus which is pathways. A path is designed to get an individual from A to B in the simplest way possible. However, not all paths are the quickest way to navigate a specific area and majority of people in cities, country paths, etc never usually stay to the path and make their own. Now in a woodland area that is untouched by human influence and has now become a nature reserve in order to preserve the area, many of the passers by walk through in big boots, winter jackets and sometimes with a dog and will be out for hours just enjoying the peace around them. Over the course of many years individuals have walked across various parts of the woodland area creating new paths and expanding old ones it has created an almost network to various locations within the woodland.

These areas of nature reserve have paths that take your focus and direct it towards some of the wild plants, colours and even on occasion wildlife which includes: Deer, Squirrels, Pheasant and stray cats and other insects of the natural order. As i progress through your eyes are directed up and down what is in view of my images as if you were walking in the area yourself. It's a simple trick that allows you to feel fully immersed within some of the images. Trails bring you through this woodland taking your view beyond what is directly in front of you from one corner of the image to another and the other images of the scenery angle your vision providing you with a greater visual perspective of the how relaxing and peaceful these areas have become from being untouched due to its nature reserve status.

In conclusion, by using these leading lines i can set the mood and draw my viewers attention to what my main focus will be.
