Week 2 Review

After considering my idea and creating my mood board i still need to find clarity as to what my project is all about. I had a couple of test shoots in which i tried out my idea about celebrity photos and how some can be quite intimate and intrusive into their own lives. I decided to use some of my local friends in order to help make the process smooth and straight forward.

I decided to take my subjects to areas they knew well and they helped me in deciding some key spots they thought would work well as i was very unfamiliar with the areas they all lived in. Some of the locations however i did plan but a lot came from connecting with them for the time we spent together. My idea was to use some poses that i gathered inspiration from my mood board and other various photographers i follow on Instagram such as: Filmdigitals, Sebastian Kim and Dario Castellani. All of which provide me with inspiration through the lighting they use, locations, style of clothes and poses for the models that i can then emulate in my own work. I sit for a good hour or so studying these pages trying to piece together the perfect way i can then approach my photoshoots in the next week or so.

In my opinion i feel as though there is a lot of room for this project to grow whether that be slightly tweaking something or even changing my idea as a whole. Over the next week and a bit i will be continuing with shooting some images in order to build up a strong collection of work followed by some more in depth research on artists we learn about from the lectures as i feel my lack of reading may cause problems later down the line. Overall, my main goal for this week will be to improve on my reading and knowledge in fashion artists and others that inspire me.
