Using Audio and Video
Over the course of the project i was thinking about clever ways that i can enhance the technicality of my project and adding elements to improve how my work was displayed and shown to the viewers. I looked at trying to include audio and video to allow for a more immersive experience around the woodlands so that the viewers can experience what i see and hear while taking the photos.
I used my GoPro which i strapped to a chest plate in which i then began recording a walk i did around the woodlands along the paths, looking at the trees, the sunlight coming through the tree tops, colours of leaves and also hearing the sound of the leaves and dirt crunching under my feet. The use of audio and visual allowed me to highlight how peaceful and relaxing the woodlands is and how i react to being i such a calming environment. While i was recording the video clips i used a Tascam DR-05X Portable audio recorder that i held towards the ground near my feet and also out to my side in order to get a whole range of different sound clips that gave me multiple options that i felt could be useful. It took roughly an hour to capture all the clips and audio to ensure i had all the necessary components needed to make a short video.
Using the audio and video clips i imported them onto Adobe Premier Pro and began organising the clips in chronological order and matching audio clips that fitted best with the video clips. I then added a small transition between each clip to create a smooth and ever changing video as if i was on a walk throughout the woods. The audio was an added touch to really make a viewer feel as though they truly are there.
After finishing the edit i then exported the file into a video file that i had the intention of including in the final edit. However, after reviewing what i had made i wasn't fully satisfied with how the video had come out. I felt as though there was a lot of improvements needed to really make it have the same impact on my work that i had hoped for. Therefore, i wanted to not include the video and use it in an other project much later down the line after i have had time to improve the video and how i produce it. I was going to include a QR code that i had made online that would allow any viewer to scan it and the link would take them straight to the video itself, therefore only requiring a picture to be displayed rather than needing a tv and other equipment.
Even though i didn't end up using the video i felt as though it was useful to include the research to show how i have experimented with this project and how i wanted to change it to make a much more visually appealing display.
